Bella has completed her multi-year solo violin commissioning project, Lineage. Inspired by the tradition of unaccompanied violin writing, from Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas to Ysaÿe’s Six Sonatas, the project features new works by Dai Wei, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Gloria Kravchenko, Eunike Tanzil, Joan Tower, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, celebrating the evolution of solo violin writing into the 21st century.
